CHRYSLER ANNOUNCES CASH FOR CLUNKERS AND OFFICIAL PARTNERSHIP WITH RETIRE YOUR RIDE PROGRAM
Chrysler Canada launched its Cash for Clunkers program in August 2009, the first of its kind to combine with the Retire your Ride program. The program has since been extended until March 31, 2011.
To date, over 100,000 Canadians have done the right thing and turned in their old vehicle under the Retire Your Ride program. Chrysler salutes these individuals, and encourages them to visit any of our 440 Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge and Ram dealerships and receive an additional $1,500 in savings towards the purchase of an eligible new Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge or Ram vehicle!
Cash for Clunkers - Program Details
In order to qualify, you must own/lease:
- 1995 model year or older vehicle
- In running condition
- Registered for at least the last 6 consecutive months (12 months in BC)
- Properly insured for at least the last 6 consecutive months (12 months in BC)
- People with 1995 or older model vehicles, who are eligible, can voluntarily retire their vehicle through the Retire Your Ride program.
Canadians who have already completed the Retire Your Ride Process.

As of August 24th, 2009, customers can visit any Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge or Ram retailer in Canada. The Chrysler dealer will confirm vehicle eligibility and apply an ADDITIONAL $1,500 in Bonus Cash towards an eligible new 2010, 2011 & 2012 Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge or Ram vehicle, on top of all other retail incentives available at that time.* It's just that simple!
Eligible Canadians who wish to start the Retire Your Ride Process
- To enroll in the program, visit any Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge, Ram dealership in Canada
- The dealer will walk you through the program, where you will select your reward. You will need to provide your name, address, email, phone number and VIN.
- Once the participant's application has been approved within 24-48 hours, an accredited recycler will be contacted and the recycling process will begin.
- Within 24-48 hours you can drive away in an eligible 2010, 2011 & 2012 Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge or Ram vehicle of your choice and receive an ADDITIONAL $1,500 in Cash for Clunkers Bonus Cash on top of any other Retire Your Ride awards and all other retail incentives available at the time of delivery!*
All New 2010 & 2011 Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram models qualify for $1,500 in Bonus Cash savings, excluding only the following:
- 2010 & 2011 Dodge Journey SE
- 2010 & 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan CVP & Cargo Van (C/V)
- 2010 & 2011 Dodge Caliber SE
- 2010 & 2011 Jeep Compass Sport 4x2 & 4x4
- 2010 & 2011 Jeep Patriot Sport 4x2 & 4x4
- 2010 & 2011 Jeep Wrangler Sport
- 2010 & 2011 Ram 1500 Reg Cab 4x2 & 4x4

*Chrysler Retire Your Ride Bonus Cash is applicable for retail deliveries of eligible new 2010, 2011 & 2012 Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge or Ram vehicles purchased from August 24th, 2009 February 28th, 2011. ^If you turn in a 1995 model year or older vehicle that is in running condition and has been registered and properly insured for the last six months (12 months in B.C.), the government will provide you with a $300 incentive as part of its Retire Your Ride program. Upon presentation of proof from the government (acceptable to Chrysler) that your old vehicle qualifies for its program, Chrysler will provide additional Cash for Clunkers Bonus Cash that must be applied to the purchase of an eligible new 2010, 2011 & 2012 Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge and Ram vehicle in the amount of $1,500 for a total of up to $1,800 in incentives. Cash for Clunkers Bonus Cash will be applied to reduce the after-tax purchase price of an eligible new Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge or Ram vehicle. By participating in this program you will not be eligible for any trade-in value for your old vehicle.
